WICHITA FALLS, TX (RNN Texoma) - National Voter Registration Day happened on Tuesday, September 25. Several organizations were on the streets to encourage people to register.
The League of Women Voters of Wichita Falls visited several libraries in Wichita County on Tuesday to assist anyone who wanted to register for the first time.
They were at the Wichita Falls Public Library as well as libraries in Iowa Park and Burkburnett.
“You need to have a say,” League of Women Voters of Wichita Falls President Kaye Holland said. “All of these races impact the voter. Some say it doesn’t impact me, it doesn’t affect me but it does.”
“These people make decisions that will be influential.”
Every year, millions of Americans miss out on elections because they missed the registration deadline or simply didn’t know the process.
This year, the deadline to register to vote is October 9.
