New business pops up while others expand in Burkburnett

BURKBURNETT, TX (TNN) - It was a great 2018 for the City of Burkburnett. The school district opened a brand new elementary school and the city broke ground on several projects.

"In our downtown area the ACE hardware group is reopening a hardware store," said Richard Gordon, the Executive Director of the Burkburnett Development Corporation.

Gordon said the previous business was family owned and closed about a year ago and the new business is expected to open in March. A new convenience store is also being worked on.

“We have a manufacturer who is under construction for an additional 10,000 square foot manufacture facility,” said Gordon, “So we’re feeling real good.”

Gordon said these new and expanded businesses only mean more job opportunities. The City of Burkburnett continues to feel this way as 2019 gets underway with more additions.

Starting off with the conversion of Bealls to Gordmans. This location will make it the only Gordmans in Texoma. A spokesperson for Stage Stores, Bria Lundy tells us the closest one is in Houston.

This March, Lundy said 37 of the Bealls, Goody’s, Peebles and Stage Stores will convert to Gordmans stores.

With these changes coming soon, she added “We appreciate our loyal Bealls guests who have come through the doors. We look forward to staying in the Burkburnett community and having everyone visit their new and exciting Gordmans store in March of 2019”

The doors to Gordmans will officially open to the public on March 7. They will be holding a job fair February 7 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. inside the current Bealls location at 200 S Red River Expressway in Burkburnett.
