WICHITA FALLS, TX (TNN) - A second correctional officer at Allred Unit faces charges of Bribery after investigators say he accepted a note from an inmate asking for a cell phone and “dope”.
19-year-old Chance Christian Briscoe was arrested after the December discovery of the note and an interview with the officer.
An Arrest Affidavit says the note asked for the cell phone and “dope” in exchange for $500. The note instructed Briscoe to contact someone outside of the prison to make the arrangements.
Briscoe arranged and accepted a $500 wire transfer, though he claims he never met with the offender’s contact outside of prison to get the cell phone and “dope”.
Officer Briscoe faces a single charge of Bribery. His bond was set at $20,000.
As of Thursday afternoon, Briscoe no longer appears on the Wichita County Jail Inmate Roster.
