WFPD arrests organized shoplifting team

WICHITA FALLS, TX (TNN) - Wichita Falls Police say two men were arrested after they were observed shoplifting from two different stores.

Police say they followed Robert Schnick, 50, and Jimmy Mayo, 55 of Wichita Falls to the Sams Club on Kell East Boulevard.

Schnick’s last known address is the Eastham Unit of the Texas Department of Justice, near College Station.

Police say they observed both men steal items from the stores.

Police continued to follow the men, this time to the Finishing Touch on Rhea Road.

Inside Finishing Touch, police witnessed the men steal around $78 in merchandise.

Both men were arrested several days after police followed them to the stores.

Mayo faces charges including Evading Arrest and two counts of Theft with previous convictions. He remains in the Wichita County Jail with a combined bond of $35,000.

Schnick faces a number of charges including two counts of theft with previous convictions, public intoxication and several traffic related offenses. His combined bond is nearly $32,000.

Both men remain in the Wichita County Jail as of Thursday afternoon.
