Winter Weather Advisory issued for Wichita Falls, surrounding area

WICHITA FALLS, TX (TNN) - A Winter Weather Advisory has been expanded into north Texas including Wichita Falls and Vernon. Freezing drizzle could cause bridges and overpasses to become slick Wednesday afternoon and evening. Also, ice could accumulate on cars, trees and power lines. Temperatures will be below freezing through Thursday morning. Thursday afternoon won’t be much warmer but we could see occasional sun. Highs will be in the 40s.

The only day in the seven day forecast that qualifies as mild is Friday when winds will be southerly highs will be in the 60s. Our weather headline continues to be a very cold weekend with highs near 40 Saturday and closer to 30 degrees Sunday. Monday will be cold as well with highs only in the 30s. While confidence is low, we could see precipitation this weekend which could be in the form of freezing rain or snow.
