WFPL hosts Touch a Truck

WICHITA FALLS, TX (TNN) - The Wichita Falls Public Library hosted a Touch a Truck event Saturday morning.

The event gave kids a chance to see and interact with heavy duty equipment including firetrucks, ambulances, police cars, garbage trucks, TxDot trucks and even a Wichita County Sheriff Office SWAT truck.

Organizers say they were worried about the threat of rain, but add they were impressed with the large crowd that showed up.

“Seeing all the kids being so excited and interacting with all the machinery has been overwhelming for me,” WFPL Assistant Administrator Angela Hill said. “It’s more than I expected.”

Hill says plans are already in the works for the library to host the event again sometime next year.
