Texoma teachers recognized by Red River Best Chevy Dealers

HENRIETTA, TX (TNN) - We told you back in January how to nominate local teachers for a big award. Tuesday, those educators were honored during an event hosted by Red River Best Chevy Dealers.

Semi-finalists winners for the Chevy Teacher Appreciation recognition included Judy Butler of City View ISD, Darin Ard of Holliday ISD, and Rebecca Moore with Comanche Elementary.

All were presented with checks for $750. First Prize went to Kevin Hunter of Vernon. He received $2,500 for teaching students about wearing neckties and having good manners.

“We don’t do it for the paycheck. We like being around kids. I mean, this was better than any award I could receive [and] having my guys here with me to share the experience, it’s just a great feeling to know that people care enough to throw your name out there for things like this,” Hunter said.

This year’s ceremony was held in Henrietta at the Four Stars Auto Ranch. Tuesday’s honorees join four Oklahoma teachers we introduced you to last week in Altus.

We want to congratulate all the teachers on both sides of the Red River for all they do for children every day.
