Tracking the threat of severe storms Wednesday

WICHITA FALLS, TX (TNN) - Gusty south winds have delivered a mild Tuesday morning with temps in the upper 50s during the morning rush. Today will be a cloudy and windy day with highs in the upper 70s. The chance of rain returns to the forecast tomorrow as well as the threat of severe thunderstorms. A stout disturbance moving our way from the west coast will bring Texoma a chance of thunderstorms by late afternoon Wednesday. Storms will develop in a very unstable atmosphere in which storms may produce large hail and perhaps tornadoes. The best chance of thunderstorms will be south and east of Wichita Falls in places like Graham, Bowie and Nocona.

A cold front will come through Wednesday night, sweeping rain out of the forecast and turning winds northerly. Thursday will be windy and cooler with high temperatures in the upper 60s. Friday and Saturday will be more pleasant with sunny skies and high temperatures in the upper 70s and low 80s.
