FIRST ALERT: Severe storms expected across eastern counties

WICHITA FALLS, TX (TNN) - Today is one of those days when rain chances aren’t very good, but if thunderstorms develop this evening, they will likely be severe. Wichita Falls and much of the Newschannel 6 viewing area will see a windy and warm day with highs in the 80s. A dryline will sweep east this afternoon and trigger the development of thunderstorms by evening.

The best chance of storms will be mainly east of Wichita Falls and Graham. Storms will develop in a very unstable atmosphere and large hail is likely with any storm that develops. If you have plans in the Oklahoma City or Dallas/Fort Worth areas, know that they will see severe thunderstorms too.

An overnight cold front delivers a windy and cooler Thursday with strong north winds and highs near 70. Friday and Saturday will be sunny and pleasant. Easter will be windy and warm with highs in the mid 80s.
