A woman involved in a January vehicle crash has been charged with the death of her brother who was killed in the same incident. 26-year-old Elizabeth Monnique Duerson has surrendered on a charge of Intoxication Manslaughter.
21-year-old Benton William Crow II was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on January 21st. Duerson had been driving the vehicle and was taken to United Regional Hospital with serious injuries.
At 2:51 a.m. that morning, Officers were called to the 2100 block of Kemp Boulevard for the single-vehicle crash. The Wichita Falls Police Department's Crash Investigation Unit found that the 2007 Honda Accord had been traveling north when it struck the right curb in the 2100 block. The vehicle then crossed the center median; striking two trees and a light pole. Crow was ejected from the car at that point. The vehicle continued north in the opposing lanes for another block before crossing back into the northbound lanes and coming to rest in the 2200 block. Duerson was pinned in the vehicle, but was freed by First Responders from the Wichita Falls Fire Department.
