Portable baby recliners are being recalled by the thousands. The Consumer Product Safety Commission said there is a safety concern with Nap Nanny recliners made by Baby Matters. 30,000 recliners are listed in the recall.
Officials said they are investigating the death of a 4-month-old-girl from Michigan. Officials said the baby's Nap Nanny recliner was being used in a crib, and the baby was found hanging over the side of the recliner. She was caught between the Nap Nanny and the crib's bumper. The CPSC said it is also aware of 22 other reports of infants falling over the side of the Nap Nanny despite the babies being strapped into the harness.
The Nap Nanny recliners were sold nationwide from January 2009 through this month.
