Wednesday was day 19 of the partial government shutdown and the impact reached Texoma. It includes some of the area non-profits who depend on federal funding like the Children’s Home and Teen Emergency Shelter.
The Homeless Coalition of North Texas held a meeting on Tuesday to prepare for its annual point-in-time, where they conduct a survey to see how widespread homelessness is in Wichita and 16 surrounding counties.
The Archer County Judge said commissioners will wait to see if the Texas Governor’s Office approves an extension for a disaster declaration issued in the Fall. If not, Judge Randall Jackson said they will apply for a new one.
