Chris Horgen

Chris Horgen has been on the air with Newschannel 6 since April of 1992. His near two decades covering Texoma is another reason Newschannel 6 is the place to turn when it comes to covering the stories and events that are important to you. While not a native Texoman the community has grown on him and he takes pride in giving back to it as often as he can.

Chris is proud of the fact that more and more people are turning to Newschannel 6 to get the latest information when news is breaking. During Christmas Blizzard '09, he was especially proud of all the information Newschannel 6 was able to bring to you while heavy snow shut down several major highways. "We were getting calls from all over the area for information," Chris said. "People wanted to know when roads were going to be open. Some were calling for help. It was a great feeling to know we were able to make a difference in a what was a really difficult time for so many."

Chris takes experiences like "Christmas Blizzard of '09" and applies them to his job everyday to make sure Newschannel 6 continues the tradition of alerting you first.

Chris grew up in Tulsa,Oklahoma and is a graduate of Oklahoma State University. He tries to spend his free time chasing a little white golf ball all over some of the great golf courses that Texoma has to offer. He currently serves on the North Texas State Hospital Volunteer Services Council Board. He has done countless volunteer projects with the North Texas United Way and was named their Volunteer of the Year in 2006.
