SKYWARN 6 FORECAST - KAUZ-TV: Newschannel 6 Now | Wichita Falls, TX

Heat Almost Over

Much of Texoma continues to be under a heat advisory until 7 p.m. tonight. Temperatures across the area will hover around 100°, with some places eclipsing that margin. The humidity will not be as much of a factor, with heat indices just above the actual temperature. Regardless, if you are going to be outside today, make sure to drink plenty of water, wear light colored clothing, and stay in the shade as much as possible.

We will start to feel a big change in the weather pattern early next week. A cold front is going to approach Texoma Sunday night into early Monday morning, and bring in cooler temperatures and better rain chances. There is a chance of rain for the area every day next week, but the best chances come Sunday night into Monday, and then again on Wednesday night into Thursday.

Today: Plenty of sunshine. Hot. South winds at 5 to 15. Highs in upper 90s to low 100s. Heat index values a few degrees higher.

Tonight: Clear skies. Warm. Lows in the mid to upper 70s.

Sunday: Mostly Sunny, but southwest winds at 5-15 mph will help thermometers peak in the low 100s. Heat index values near the actual temperature.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy. 20 percent chance of showers and storms after midnight. Lows in the mid 70s.

Monday: Partly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of morning showers and storms. Highs in the low 90s.
