Rain Remains in the Forecast for Tonight and Easter Sunday
Despite the increase in cloud coverage, temperatures are sitting in the mid to upper 70's this afternoon. A few places may make a run at 80 degrees before the day is done. Temperatures will slowly drop to around 60 degrees Saturday night into Sunday morning under a mostly cloudy sky.
The storm system that is producing the clouds is going to be close enough to potentially trigger some isolated showers and storms tonight. Overall, rain chances are not great, but areas west of Wichita Falls have the best chances of seeing a storm pop up. Most places will remain dry Saturday night.
However, our rain chances will increase on Easter Sunday. There is a chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon and scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and overnight. Some of the storms that do form Sunday evening or Sunday night into early Monday morning could be strong.
Easter Sunday is also going to be warm, windy, and humid. Temperatures will start out around 60 degrees and quickly rise to the upper 70s by the afternoon. The wind will be out of the south at 10 to 20mph.
Next week looks very warm. Highs everyday will be in the 80s. We are tracking another storm system that could bring us rain Wednesday night into Thursday. We will have more on that as it approaches. James Parish, Skywarn 6 Meteorologist
