U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division, Federal Indictment

We're following a developing story in Montague County where several law enforcement agencies descended on the courthouse there for a federal investigation.
There were arrests made on federal indictments Wednesday and Newschannel 6 has an update from Davilyn Walston, the U.S. attorney over the case.
Law enforcement officers from the Montague County Sheriff's Office, the Bowie Police Department, and the Texas Rangers were all involved in the investigations and arrests of nine people.

Seven of those arrested are from Nocona, one is from Bowie and the other suspect is from Wichita Falls. The defendants have each been charged with conspiracy to manufacture with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and attempting to manufacture with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.

According to the indictment, the indictments say the nine people conspired to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine in and around Montague, Cooke, and Denton counties since May 2008.

Officials said the defendants allegedly shopped various pharmacies in different counties to buy cold pills that contain pseudoephedrine. Sheriff Cunningham said this case will send a message to people that this type of activity will not be tolerated in Montague County.

The indictment came from a federal grand jury in January of this year. If convicted, each of the defendants could face up to life in federal prison.
