Texas Board Will Decide On Social Studies Debate

Today the textbooks in Texas could be transformed and the debate over politicized Social Studies curriculum is getting hotter.

Many political groups, parents and educators have weighed in on the changes that will affect 4.7 million students in Texas and stay in place for more than a decade.

Throughout the week, there have been rallies with messages such as "Don't mess with textbooks" and "Don't make Texas schools a national joke".

The State Board of Education is preparing to vote on the standards today.
