Coast Guard To Get Greater Access To Cleanup Fund

Help is on its way to the gulf. A bill to give the Coast Guard more money to respond to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has zipped through congress.

It now goes to the White House for President Barack Obama's signature.

The bill would lift the $100 million limit the Coast Guard is under when using money from a government trust fund reserved for cleanup costs.

Without the extension, the Coast Guard would hit that limit next week.

Lawmakers say the federal government will require BP to reimburse the Coast Guard's expenses.
