Poster Contest For Public Works

In order to spread the word and get the community involved in storm drainage awareness Public Works has a city wide poster contest.

The winning poster will be the new face and slogan of the organization.

The Deputy Director of Public Works said in order to keep the city clean yard waste needs to be kept from going down the drain, oil spills need to be cleaned with kitty litter and while washing cars in the driveway use environmentally friendly soap.

She added that each year city street sweepers travel more 2,500 miles.

The deadline to get your poster into the contest is July 14th.

The director said the contest is part of a five year permit to have so a certain number of community involvement and educational programs that the city department is required to have.
