Trying To Salvage Border Conference

New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson is stepping in to save an annual conference for U.S. and Mexican Governors.

Richardson is trying to find another location for the annual conference of border state governors.

it was supposed to take place in Phoenix in September.

But Arizona Governor Jan Brewer canceled it after Mexican Governors refused to attend because of the state's new immigration law.

Possible options for the conference's new location include California, Texas or New Mexico.
