Man Arrested After Fleeing Police

A man who refused to stop for deputies is behind bars Thursday night. The Wichita County Sheriff's office says a deputy tried to pull over a vehicle on Airport Dr., but the driver refused to stop.

When the vehicle finally did stop, deputies say the driver, Bennett Bob Taylor, 53, climbed out of the car, and again refused to stop when deputies asked him.  That's when the deputy fired his tazer at Taylor. It was then deputies say they noticed the smell of alcohol, slurred speech and bloodshot eyes.

After refusing to complete an on-site sobriety test, Taylor was arrested. He's charged with driving while intoxicated.
