Sheppard AFB Pitches in to Help Food Bank

Thousands of Texoma families will eat a little better this summer. Thanks, in part, to 23 airmen from Sheppard Air Force Base.

The Wichita Falls Area Food Bank is launching a new program. The Summer Family Nutrition Program will help families with children who receive reduced or free school lunches, eat well during summer.

Airmen from the 362nd Training Squadron pitched in to box 100,000 pounds of food for families in 12 counties.

The program is funded by the federal government.

The food will be distributed next Saturday.
