Archer County Enacts Burn Ban

Effective today, Archer County Commissioners have enacted a Burn Ban in effect for the next 30-days.

The County saw hundreds of acres burn in the last week in wildfires. A lack of rain and extreme heat forced Commissioners to act.

The ban excludes all outdoor burning with the following exceptions: Outdoor grilling with an approved enclosed BBQ Grill; Welding with no restrictions; Fire Fighter Training, Public Utility, Natural Gas pipeline or mining operations; Harvesting of agriculture crop or that are conducted by a prescribed burn manager certified under Section 153.048, Natural Resources Code, and meet the standards of Section 153.047, Natural Resource Code.
