'Granddad Bandit' Behind Bars

The suspect accused of robbing 25 banks in 13 states is behind bars.

Police and the FBI arrested the man known as the "granddad bandit" in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Authorities said there was a standoff at 53 year old Michael Mara's home before he was taken into custody.

Just this past week the FBI had started posting pictures of Mara across the nation.

It was from the billboards that agents say a tip led them to their man.

"We were aware of him, probably since Friday," FBI special agent Howard Schwartz said.

Agents only executed one arrest warrant for the 25 robberies even though he is suspected of committing all of them.

The string of robberies began in 2008.
