Newschannel 6 is learning about a Texoma boy who is in intensive care, following a dog attack.
The five-year-old lives with his father in the Wichita Falls area, but was in Bush, Illinois, visiting his mother when he was attacked last Friday. Williamson County officials said the boy was in the park with his brother and mother. His mother left them alone for a few minutes to get them a drink from her house which was next to the park. Officials said when she returned her nine-year-old son ran to her screaming his little brother was being attacked by dogs.
The boy suffered multiple bites to his face, head and body. He was flown to a St. Louis hospital in critical condition. Officials said Friday the boy still in ICU, but he is doing much better and expected to make a full recovery.
Both dogs, which were a pit-bull mix, were destroyed. The Sheriff's Office arrested the dogs' owner, 45-year-old Tanya Holland, for reckless conduct and dogs running at large.
