Man Killed While Riding A Horse In The Roadway

A Duncan man riding his horse was killed last night when he was hit by a car. The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Shawn Scarbrough, 39, and the horse were Westbound on Gatlin Road in the center of the roadway. The 19-year-old driver, also headed westbound, swerved to miss Scarbrough, but the horse jumped in front of the car. The impact forced Scarbrough off his horse, and he landed on the hood of the car. He died at the scene of head injuries. The driver of the car was treated for minor cuts and bruises.
