New Smart Meter From Oncor - KAUZ-TV: Newschannel 6 Now | Wichita Falls, TX

New Smart Meter From Oncor

There is a new smart meter in town and Oncor wants to answer any questions you may have about it.

Oncor representatives will be on hand in the Lowe's parking lot to talk about the Smart Texas Mobile Experience Center or just MEC.

By 2012, Oncor will install more than three million of the meters.

They are far more advanced than the current meters.

"These new smart meters will have a two way communication. They'll send us the information, they can also send you information by some devices in the home that will be available in the future. It will also tell us about outages.

Oncor said the MEC is all part of Oncor's Smart Texas Rethinking Energy Consumer Education campaign.

Representatives will be at Lowe's from 10:00 A.M. till 2:00 Wednesday afternoon.
