Food Recall Linked To Typhoid Fever Outbreak

Mamey frozen fruit bars are being recalled because of a possible link to a rare U.S. outbreak of Typhoid Fever.

The California company Fruiti Pops says the bars have been distributed in California, Arizona and Texas since May 2009.

The company says the bars were made with contaminated mamey pulp that Goya Foods voluntarily recalled earlier this month after being linked to a Typhoid Fever outbreak in California and Nevada.

So far no illnesses have been reported from the fruit bars.
