We had a great group of candidates for our first-ever Papa John's Player of the Week Award this week, from Old High's Dylan Sheffield through the air to Quanah's running back Roderick Woodard on the ground.
But your Zero Week winner combined both, and then some.
Seymour's Aaron Barton ran, passed or kicked for all 42 of his team's points as both quarterback and placekicker in a 1-point overtime road win at Jacksboro.
I don't think it should go to just one player, credit for that game," said Barton. "I think the whole team did a good job: the receivers, the linemen did a good job of blocking, good coaching calls, I think it's an all-around team effort."
Asked about this week's upcoming game against Lubbock Christian, he said, "It should be a nice game, the first game on the new turf. [We've] never played Lubbock Christian before in Seymour history, so I think it should be a good game."
Congratulations to Aaron and his Panthers teammates!
