Last week Old High opened their season with a high-scoring win against Burkburnett.
This week they welcomed the Highlanders of Lawton MacArthur, another team with a spread-em-out offense, and things didn't go as well for the Coyotes.
They jumped out to an early 7-0 lead on a long TD pass from Dylan Sheffield to Diondre Singleton, but then Mac scored 21 straight points, including a blocked punt recovered in the end zone.
The Coyotes cut the lead to 21-14 on another long TD pass from Sheffield, this time to Devontay Chaffin, but that was all the WFHS scoring.
MacArthur scored the last 28 points of the game for a 49-14, lightning-shortened win over the Coyotes, which ended with 4:13 remaining in the 3rd quarter.
Meanwhile, across town, the Wichita Christian Stars got 200 yards passing from QB Brent Holsberry and pulled away in the second half for a 39-18 win over Lubbock Kingdom Prep.
The game was tied at 12 at the half, before the Stars outscored the Knights 27-6 in the second half.
