Jimmy Noel Hughes, 22, is facing new charges. The inmate who escaped from the Wichita County Jail Annex last month has been charged with Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility. Deputies say during their investigation into the Escape From Annex, two inmates wanted to give a statement. They told deputies a detention officer brought marijuana to the jail and gave it to Hughes. Deputies questioned the detention officer who said he was intimidated into bringing the marijuana to the jail. He said Hughes and another inmate threatened him on several occasions. The drug was recovered during a shake-down. Hughes is currently serving a 198 year prison sentence on two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.
