As states fight to survive in the languishing economy, the President will be in Wisconsin Monday to kick off the fall campaign season.
Democrats are trying to hang on to their seats as Republicans try to regain control of congress.
President Barack Obama will try to convince voters that Democratic policies are working by pitching the current economy.
"To heal our economy, we need more than a healthy stock market, we need bustling main streets and a growing, thriving middle class," President Obama said.
This is just the first step, he will be in Cleveland on Wednesday to announce new steps to help small businesses.
An official said President Obama will push congress to permanently extend the tax credit for business research and development costs.
