Oklahoma Ranks 26th In Federal Spending

The numbers are in and the state of Oklahoma ranks 26th in federal spending.

A new Census Bureau report shows the federal government sent $37.5 billion in funding to Oklahoma in 2009.

An increase of 18 percent from the previous year.

That averages to a little more than 10,000 per person but, less than the national average of 10,400 thousand dollars.

Federal grants for education and transportation increased in the state along with farm subsidies and housing assistance.
