The City of Wichita Falls Public Works Department and Office of Emergency Preparedness are monitoring water levels on several creeks and rivers across Texoma.
The Wichita River, one of several waterways city crews are watching tonight, is measuring just over 4ft. That was as of 5:00pm. That's well below the flood stage level of 18 ft. The Wichita River is forecast to crest at around 5ft early tomorrow morning.
Measurements also have been taken Wednesday afternoon at Beaver Creek near Electra and the Red River near Burkburnett. Both are well below flood stage levels.
With the heavy rain staying east and continuing to push north, the flooding threat is expected to go down.
