Pastor Cancels Plans To Burn Hundreds Of Qurans

A Florida pastor has canceled his plan to burn Qurans on Saturday.

The pastor called it off because Muslim leaders have agreed to not build their community center near Ground Zero in New York City.

President Barack Obama urged the pastor to call it off.

The president says the burning would have been a "recruitment bonanza for Al-Qaida"

The top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, General David Petraeus, echoed that message.
