Sheriff''s Deputies Called to Domestic Standoff

Wichita County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a home near Kamay on FM 1206 around 10:30 p.m. Friday night.

A woman told deputies she has been living in a shelter and went to the home to pick up her child from her common-law husband. The woman said he threatened to shoot her and would not let her or the child leave the home.

Wichita County Sheriff David Duke said this was not the first time they had been called to the home. He said, over the past few weeks, they have gone to the home for overdose and attempted overdose calls as well as other domestic violence complaints.

Nearly 20 units were called to the scene, including SWAT.

Sheriff's deputies found a shotgun at the scene.

The suspect was charged with domestic threat.
