Traffic Accident Knocks Out Power To 12,000 In W.F.

The lights are back on for a section of Wichita Falls after an early morning accident knocked out power to part of the city.

Officials say a little after 7 a.m. Monday a man driving eastbound on the 6300 blk. of Southwest Parkway crossed into oncoming traffic.

The man's red Ford truck hit another vehicle and then crashed into a utility pole causing the power outages.

The man driving the Ford was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt.

The accident caused the traffic lights at Seymour Hwy. and Allendale to go out and crews had to set up temporary stop signs there and at Barnett Rd. and Seymour Hwy.

Oncor officials say more than 12,000 customers were affected by the accident.

At 8:30 95% of power had been restored.
