Wildcats Win Opening-Game Rout

The Wichita Falls Wildcats opened up their 2010 regular-season schedule Wednesday in the NAHL Showcase Tournament in Minnesota, facing the Chicago Hitmen.

The 'Cats jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one period and rolled to an 8-1 win behind a pair of goals each from Mac Olsen and Dakota Klecha, who also added two assists.

Ryan Frost added three helpers, Goalie Tyler Green stopped 33 of 34 Chicago shots, and the Wildcats also killed off 12 of 13 Hitmen Power Plays.

Elsewhere on the stat sheet, Sean Keene had a goal and an assist, and Drew Allen, Bobby Chapman and Daniel Hillenbrandt also had tallies for the 'Cats.

They'll face the Wenatchee Wild on Thursday at 2:30 PM, before taking on Bismarck and Aberdeen Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Their home opener will be Friday, September 24 against Fairbanks.
