Eric Crosslin joined the Newschannel 6 team in May 2010. A native of the Waco, TX area, Eric graduated from The University of North Texas in Denton, TX, with a degree in Broadcast Communications. While there he hosted The Eric Crosslin Show on NTTV, the university's cable television station.
Eric comes by his affinity for computers and the Internet honestly. His father was a programmer for Texas Farm Bureau from 1973 until he retired in 2005. Computers were commonplace in the Crosslin household in a time where most people had yet to ever use one.
Shortly before graduating from college in 1998, Eric entered a stand-up comedy competition dubbed "The Texoma Comedy Festival," in Sherman,TX. After four weeks of competition, he placed 2nd, losing out to a local celebrity who was best known for starring in a commercial spot alongside Troy Aikman. Despite coming in second, Eric began touring as a professional stand-up comic, thanks to one of the judges in the competition who happened to be a booking agent for dozens of nightclubs across America.
While on the road touring, Eric was one of the first comics to build a promotional web-site. Upon seeing his work, other comics quickly began to see the benefits of having their tour dates, pictures, videos, and merchandise for sale online for the world to view. Having no web page building experience of their own, several comics began hiring Eric to handle the duties. Thus his career as a webmaster began.
Eric left the road in 2007 to accept a position at 95.5 The Boss, a classic rock radio station in Jacksboro, TX, where he served as webmaster, program director, and morning show host.
Now the web master and web reporter for Newschannel6now.com, Eric is once again doing what he loves the most: Talking and playing on the computer.
