WFHS Holds Garage Sale for Student

Wichita Falls High School hosted a benefit garage and bake sale to help the family of Matthew Castaneda Saturday. Castaneda has been admitted to Cook Children's Hospital with a serious illness. Doctors expect he will be there for several weeks.

Castaneda is a member of the JROTC at Old High, who held the fundraiser for him. Castaneda's mother left work to be with him at the hospital. Organizers collected donations of food and goods for the sale to help cover medical and day-to-day expenses for the family.

The event ran from 7 a.m. until noon.
