Texoma Is Honoring DPS Trooper Cpl. David Slaton

Today Texoma is honoring one of their own.

Hundreds of people attended the funeral of DPS trooper 56-year-old Corporal David Slaton to honor his life.
Slaton was killed in an on-duty traffic accident Monday night.
He was traveling north on US 81 when he hit a cow south of Ringgold.
The impact forced Slaton's vehicle into on-coming traffic and he hit a semi head on.

The funeral was at the First Baptist Church in Bowie.
And for many mourners who couldn't fit at the church they watched the service live at Bowie High School.

We will have more on trooper Slaton and how he was honored this afternoon coming up tonight on first at five.
