Falls Residents Prepare for Worst

The Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District hosted the "Ready or Not?" Emergency Preparedness Outreach Tour Saturday.

The tour is making stops all across the state, and is put on by the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Experts were on hand to help people prepare for a host of disasters that can strike throughout the year. Organizers said, raising this kind of awareness is key to people surviving events like hurricanes, tornadoes and biohazard incidents.

The event was held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Walmart on Central Freeway.

Experts recommend forming a family emergency plan and putting together an emergency essential kit, as well as becoming familiar with evacuation routes and zones.
