Local Sports Roundup: September 28

Wichita Falls High School entered Tuesday night 0-4 in District 4-4A play, and they really needed a win.

They hosted the Lake Dallas Lady Falcons, and it was a see-saw affair. The Lady Coyotes took the first set convincingly, 25-15, but struggled in the next two. They lost sets 2 and 3 by scores of 16-25 and 22-25.

But they rallied to take the 4th set 25-19, setting up a deciding final set, which they took by the narrowest of margins, 15-13, for their first District win of the year, moving their record to 1-4 in the district.

In other action:
Host Burkburnett defeated visiting Hirschi 25-19, 25-13, 25-4,
Holliday beat visiting Henrietta 25-15, 25-21, 25-21
Notre Dame won at Lubbock Christ the King 25-17, 25-7, 25-20

MSU Soccer News

It would seem the Midwestern State Soccer team should be the #1 team in the nation right now.

But instead, they are unranked for the first time in four years, almost to the day.

The problem apparently stems from what the school called, "A snafu associated with a payment of dues."

MSU is the only undefeated and untied school in Division II, and was #2 last week.

Number 1 Cal State-Los Angeles lost two games this week, and Colorado Mines, who had a scoreless draw with #7 Metro State (Colo.), takes over the top spot.

MSU is eligible to be back in the polls next week.
