Seymour met up with Electra in the final non-district matchup for both teams, and it was our Dr Pepper Game of the Week.
Both the Tigers and Panthers were coming off of losses, so both wanted the win tonight.
It started out all Seymour, Aaron Barton leading the Panthers to an opening-drive touchdown, capped off with a long scoring pass to Tarrington Rivers, that put them up 7-0.
Electra got the ball back but couldn't hold on to it. Blaze Lynn fumbled and it was recovered by Seymour's Tanner Gillespie, leading to a Barton qb-keeper touchdown and a 14-0 lead.
Seymour kept it up in the second quarter. Barton went back to Rivers for another Panther touchdown, their second connection of the game. Seymour led 20-0 after missing the extra point.
The Panthers were balanced, able to throw and run the ball equally well.
Dalton Pullen run for a touchdown late in the second quarter before half, giving Seymour a 26-0 lead at the half, after they failed on a 2-point conversion try.
In the second half the Panthers extended their lead, eventually rolling up a 46-7 victory.
Seymour improves to 4-2 with the win, with Electra falling to 2-4.
Next week both open up district play, with Seymour hosting Haskell and Electra welcoming the Munday Moguls.
Our Week 6 Dr Pepper Game of the week will feature the Hirschi Huskies and Iowa Park Hawks in the District 6-3A opener for both teams!
