Commissioners Looking At New Bullet-proof Vests For Sheriff's Office

Monday morning, Wichita County Commissioners will be looking at getting more bullet proof vests for the sheriff's office, and it won't cost tax payers a dime.

Commissioners are expected to approve an application for a grant from Bulletproof Vest Partnership to pay half of almost $30,000 in new vests. The other half of the money will come from the Wichita County Sheriff's Office Forfeiture Fund.

Commissioners are also expected to approve the next step in realigning county jail staff in order to be ready for new jailers.

County commissioners meet at 10am Monday at the Wichita County Courthouse.
