Firefighters Sporting Pink

Wichita Falls firefighters are about to start showing their feminine side, by wearing pink for a cause, and you can as well.

The WFFD will be selling pink T-shirts for $15 at Station #1, #5 and #8 all month long. They also have magnetic ribbons for $5 that you place on a fire truck in memory of a loved one or a cancer survivor.

This weekend and the next two weekends the firefighters themselves will be in the pink shirts, and Newschannel 6 found out, that it has taken a little getting used to. Captain Keith Morton says, "Last year they were a little reluctant to wear the pink, but this year, they're not as reluctant and we've had a really good response from the guys."

All the money raised will go the local Susan G Komen Race For The Cure. Last year the fire department raised $13,000.

A Texoma church is preparing for a missions trip to Africa, but a recent financial short fall has put the main purpose of the trip on hold.
