UPDATE: Woman's Condition Upgraded In 287 Wreck

United Regional Hospital tells NewsChannel 6 that the woman involved in a fatal wreck Monday is listed in "fair" condition and has been moved out of the Intensive Care Unit. Her husband, the driver of a pickup that rolled on 287, died Tuesday from injuries he sustained in that crash.

57-year-old Leah Ann Wolfe of Amarillo has been upgraded from critical to fair condition. 57-year-old Jonathan Park Wolfe died at United Regional.

Department of Public Safety Troopers say the Wolfe's were headed westbound on US-287 Monday afternoon. The DPS says the Wolfe's were passing a dump truck in the right hand lane. Troopers say the pickup drifted and the trailer of the truck hit the dump truck. Both vehicles then lost control.

The impact caused the pickup driver to lose control and the truck flipped.

DPS Trooper Tony Fulton told Newschannel 6 at the scene, "Both of the folks in the pickup were ejected from the vehicle. Apparently no seatbelts were in use. It looks like this would have been a lot more minor had they had them on. We'll look into that as the investigation continues."
