Newcastle To Get Animal Control Services

Stray dogs could soon be taken off the streets in one Texoma town.  The Newcastle mayor signed a contract with the Humane Society for Animal Control services.  The grand total: $2,500 a month for a 6 month trial.  In the agreement, the Humane Society of Young County would dedicate four hours a day for two days a week to patrolling and picking up dogs on the run.

The mayor says the problem has recently escalated and contracting with the Humane Society could make a significant difference in the town.
