U.S. Enters 10th Year of the War in Afghanistan

It's a critical day in Afghanistan as Thursday marks the 10th anniversary of the start of the war.

So far, more than 1,300 American troops have lost their lives in the conflict.

Public support of the war is slipping as the first NATO country has pulled out its troops and the Canadians are expected to leave next.

But now diplomacy is taking action in the war torn country as the Taliban are holding low-key talks with the Afghan government about ending the fighting.

The U.S. government isn't taking part in any of those meetings.
