Texas Man Faces Third DWI Conviction

A Texas man could be facing his third DWI conviction.

Wichita County Sheriff's Deputies say Steven Russell Butler got behind the wheel while drunk.

Deputies say it all started when three deputies were on their lunch break in the early morning hours of Sept. 17 at a Henrietta restaurant.

Deputies say it was there they noticed butler had the strong odor of alcohol around him.

They say when they noticed him getting into his vehicle, Butler drove off before they could stop him.

Deputies later pulled him over and say he failed field sobriety tests.

Butler has been convicted twice before for a DWI charge.

Butler was charged with DWI Third or More Offense.
